US Senate holds climate change session

The Senate Climate Action Task Force held a 15-hour Up4Climate event that took place from Monday evening until Tuesday Morning, drawing further attention to the challenges presented from climate change.

 

Thirty Senators attended the all night conference to discuss the impacts that climate change was having on their home states, and efforts they have been taking to address this issue.

 

Vermont, Oregon, Delaware,

 

Nevada Senator Harry Reid began the session in the early evening and was joined by Senators from across the country including Vermont, Oklahoma, Oregon, Massachusetts, and Delaware.

 

Despite inaction in Congress, the Obama Administration has been using executive authority to task the Environmental Protection Agency with taking steps to address climate change.

 

New emissions standards for power plants are expected in the coming months.
