California power company going solar

Southern California Edison has signed purchase agreements with Silverado Power for 6 megawatts of renewable energy stemming from 3 solar projects.

These solar projects will contribute to California’s goal of acquiring 33% of their power from renewable sources by 2020.

Southern California Edison is one of the state’s main energy utilities, providing electricity to over 14 million people.

Silverado Power expects the solar projects, which involve constructing large photovoltaic panel systems to come online by the end of 2013.
